Strength In Numbers
The C.H.I.L.D. Chapter of
Scotch Plains Fanwood provides services and advocates for ALL the
children and their families where there is a learning difference
or challenge. In the Scotch Plains Fanwood school system
alone that's about 1000 children that have been evaluated and are
benefiting from supports and interventions to meet their
education, social and emotional needs through an Individual
Education Plan under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education
Act). Many more students are also receiving help under ADA's
Section 504 (Americans with Disabilities Act) and through the
Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District's Intervention and Referral
Services (I & RS/PAC)

Fun Fact –
Jack Horner, Paleontologist & Professor at Montana State U. has
found more fossils, pioneered more technologies & postulated
more theories about dinosaurs than anyone else - yet doesn’t have
a U degree having flunked out 7 times due to his learning
difference! He was also the model used for scientist “Allen Grant”
in Jurassic Park.
